| Millie has always loved drawing as a kid, but faces have always been her favorite. Although she initially intended to study Biology to become a doctor, her true passion was in art, and she ended up majoring in Studio Art at the University of California Irvine.
After graduating from college and years prior to becoming a full-time caricature artist, Millie worked tirelessly in the lucrative internet industry for a multitude of commercial enterprises: automotive, publishing, pharmaceutical, travel & leisure, wholesale, and entertainment. Her experience includes working for clients such as Disney, Allergan, Energizer, Midway, Honda, Mazda, Toyota, and Entrepreneur.
After 6 years of coding, life happened, and Millie decided to go "off-line" to return to her roots as an artist. She worked as a professional portrait artist, then as a traditional caricaturist at Downtown Disney in Anaheim. She spent countless days and nights building her experience, drawing guests from all over the world, throughout all holidays and seasons of the year, under the Southern California sky. With tens of thousands of drawings under her belt, she went further to pursue her own retail caricature shop at her old stomping grounds in Irvine, CA.
With a formal background in art, years of work in technology, and experience in retail caricature, it was only natural for Millie to embrace digital caricatures with a true passion. She loves being able to put digital “pen” on digital “paper” and delights in capturing her subjects quickly yet accurately in a flattering style. Positive and professional, she gives her best in every drawing that she does, and personally delivers each one with a genuine smile.
From hand-coding to drawing-by-hand, Millie Velasco is a talented, well-rounded, inventive asset, 100% dedicated to her craft.
