Buddy

     Born in Dallas, Texas on July 28, 1951, Wallace, also known as "Buddy", began his career as a caricaturist in 1971 at Six Flags Over Texas. After completing his studies in Philosophy at the University of North Texas, Buddy also received an art degree from University of Texas at Dallas graduating 'cum laude' in 1979.

     During the 70's Buddy taught the art of caricature at major theme parks throughout the United States. Many of today's modern caricaturists are students of Buddy. In 1979 RCA commissioned Buddy to demonstrate the forerunner of the modern fax machine at the International Telecommunications Convention in Geneva, Switzerland. Buddy's caricatures became the first to travel around the world via fax as the drawings were relayed from Geneva to Tokyo, to San Francisco, to New York, and then back to Geneva while the customers watched on. There, Buddy drew numerous heads of state, and other dignitaries.

     In addition to drawing more than half a million faces over his career, Buddy includes among his credits the creation of the world's only international trade organization known as The National Caricaturist Network (NCN). Today the NCN boasts an international membership of more than 400 members. Some of Buddy's other notable accomplishments include the creation of the world's largest hand carved chess set, and numerous giant graphics painted in airbrush on city buses. This was done as special commissions for the Coca Cola Company's world launch of the Fruitopia fruit drink. Some of Buddy's buses have been seen as far away as Hong Kong. Buddy also designed and painted the advertising on other buses for major Dallas area radio stations. In July of 1993 Buddy was featured in American Artist Magazine in the 'Success Stories' section.
