The comments I hear, over and over, behind me as I am working the parties are: "wow, she's really good" "She totally captures the likeness" "how fun is that?" "your faces actually LOOK like the people" "I'm going to frame this" "I'm using this on my next Xmas cards" - and lots & lots of laughing!
I use pre-drawn backgrounds and they have no idea what it will be, the audience watches and cracks up at what I have chosen for that particular subject and the suspense and surprises makes for hours of laughs.... placed in a clear plastic bag when done, they have something nice to take home.
The same concept is used for the computer caricatures.
